Hope—The Missing Ingredient

CAMPMEETING: SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT

// Darrell Huffman

Faith operates in the unseen realm. It is a spiritual force that we can't see, taste, touch, hear, or smell. So we must find another way to know more about this subject.

In my search to know more about faith, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about the importance of hope. He said, "Faith is motivated by your hope; frustration is motivated by your problems." He further said, "My people are in frustration; they are not in faith." Then God said, "If you get consumed with hope, you will be in faith, but My people are so consumed with their problems that they are frustrated."

Pray Boldly

Timeless Teachings

Effective prayer involves boldness. There are many things we do not need to pray for—but it is all right to pray for boldness.

We do not need to pray for faith, because our faith is increased by feeding it on God's Word and exercising it. But the Bible does show us that we can pray for boldness.

Peter and John were bold when they used the Name of Jesus to minister to the lame man at the gate called Beautiful. They were bold when they proclaimed the Name of Jesus to the crowd that gathered. The Jewish authorities noticed their boldness and commanded them to preach and teach no more in the Name of Jesus (Acts 4:13, 18).

WINTER BIBLE SEMINAR REVIEW

// Winter Bible Seminar & Rhema USA Homecoming 2015

Winter Bible Seminar & Rhema USA Homecoming 2015 was not "business as usual." Those who came and the many who watched online were built up, challenged, and comforted.

Frequent themes were that we are in the last days, the time is short, and we must keep our hearts and lives right so we can hear God's voice and do His work. Whether that work is prayer, sharing Jesus with others, or building up the Church, we must know the Holy Spirit and follow Him closely to be effective.

Turning Stumbling Blocks Into Stepping-Stones

blocks

// Lynette Hagin

The faith walk is not a walk of ease. It's not always fun to endure life's problems. But James 1:4 tells us to let endurance run its full course. We would probably rather go through life on "flowery beds of ease." But that's not the way life works. We live in an imperfect world with imperfect people, and life is not going to be easy all the time.

We need to understand, however, that our faith won't grow without being tried and proven. In life, we will experience trials of our faith. But during those things we must "count it all joy" (James 1:2). The basis for faith is the Word of God, and the proof of faith comes from living a life of faith.

"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be Like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." -Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)
