Kindle The Flame

It rained the week before Lynette Hagin’s Kindle the Flame® Women’s Conference in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. On some days, it poured. But as is so typical before any event Lynette Hagin plans, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun shone brightly as 1,800 women descended on the RHEMA
Bible Church campus.

“Forget about everybody but you,” Mrs. Hagin told the women Thursday evening. “I ignored my cell phone all day today. If I can do it, so can you.”

Excitement and expectancy were soon transformed into the sweet aroma of worship as the women, with arms uplifted in adoration of their Heavenly Father, sang praises to their God and King. That same sweet spirit permeated the auditorium throughout the conference.

Lynette Hagin opened the gathering by asking the women what kind of legacy they were writing in the history book of their lives. After her message, she invited the congregation to kneel at their seats and commit to making a difference in people’s lives. Black notebooks with “Leaving a Legacy” embossed on the cover were given to the women with the charge to begin recording their own personal legacy.

Guest speakers included Patsy Cameneti, Rhonda Rogers, and Lois Taucher. They spoke on getting to know God, having a change of heart, and doing the work of the ministry. This year Sue Warwick, a licensed clinical therapist, spoke on depression at the first-hour workshop. Other workshops included couponing, best-kept beauty secrets, health and fitness, and making memories through affordable family events.

At the Saturday evening candlelight service, Lynette exhorted the women to take their places in the Body of Christ, for there is much work to be done before Jesus can return. Without a doubt, this year’s Kindle the Flame was a glorious conference that felt like three days of Heaven on earth. Those who attended returned home refreshed, renewed, and ready to be a light to those around them. And many marked their calendars for Kindle the Flame 2010, scheduled for September 23–25 on the RHEMA USA campus.

Rhonda Rogers“You cannot preach, teach, and deliver people based on someone else’s relationship with Jesus Christ. You need to preach and teach and help people based on the relationship you have with Jesus Christ. It’s got to be real. It’s got to be personal. It’s got to be actually happening in your life. Then you can give it to other people and make them more valuable for the Kingdom of God.”
—Rhonda Rogers

Patsy Cameneti“There gets to be a time when there aren’t any more words to be spoken to man. And you have to just get on your knees—on your face—and say, ‘God, it says right here in Your Word. If You didn’t want it to come to pass, You ought not to have said it. Because here it is. And I’m going to take You at Your Word.’ That is seeking the Lord.”
—Patsy Cameneti

Lois Taucher“You don’t really have what you want in life. You have what you decide to do. God’s looking for people to stand up and make a difference. He’s waiting for somebody who will be a leader in this hour—someone who’s not just waiting for the door to be opened, but they’re opening the door. They are pressing through. This is not the time to sit back and just watch what’s happening. You are what’s happening!”
—Lois Taucher
