Rhema Brazil: Celebrate - Then Go!

Just One Week after Craig and Mia Hagin returned from China (see page 8), Craig packed his bags again and headed south to the lush country of Brazil. There he met up with Bud and Jan Wright, directors of Rhema Brazil, and joined in congratulating another round of Rhema grads. Over 6,800 men and women have graduated since Rhema Brazil began. Today there are 60 campuses located throughout this sprawling nation.

Graduation—Brazilian style—is like a big celebration. Craig notes that when students are called to come up and receive their diplomas, they don’t walk across the stage to get them; they run! It’s hard for them to contain their gratitude and excitement. Knowing where many of the students came from makes it easy to understand why.

Poverty is evident throughout Brazil. It’s common to see shacks next to multimillion dollar condominiums. When many Brazilians hear the message of faith, it’s as if they’re given a second lease on life. Instead of being chained to a hopeless future, they know that God has something good in store for them. They learn that they can use their faith to change their circumstances.

“I hear testimony after testimony of how the message of faith has brought change to their nation,” says Craig.

Rhema Brazil graduates are on fire for the Lord. Many of them are like blazing arrows that have been aimed by the Master Archer and sent throughout the world. In addition to winning the lost and starting churches and Bible schools throughout their nation, grads have gone to Japan, France, Portugal, Chile, and Argentina. They are quick to obey God’s command to “Go ye. . . .”

Rhema Reaches China

Late Last Year Craig and Mia Hagin completed a momentous journey. They traveled 6,800 miles to Beijing to take part in the first-ever celebration service for men and women completing their initial year at Rhema China!

During the first-year certificate ceremony, Craig told the 62 students, “My grandfather always said that people in Heaven don’t know everything about you in the natural, but they know about your spiritual race. We’re very familiar with sporting events like the Olympics where we do a lot of cheering. But I believe today in the grandstands of Heaven, there’s a lot of cheering going on for what God is doing in China. It’s a privilege to be a part of such an occasion.”

Although the students didn’t speak English, they were well able to convey their gratitude to Craig and Mia. They would hug them and with tears say the only English words they knew— “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

“The Chinese people were so friendly and open,” Mia said. “Students will sit for hours and listen to the Word.”

The students of Rhema China’s charter class are hungry to learn. Instructors never have to be concerned about teaching too long. The students will sit in class for hours, even skipping meals so they don’t miss anything. It’s not uncommon for an instructor to say, “Class is over. You have to go home now.”

Many years ago when Craig’s grandfather announced at Campmeeting, “We’regoing to start a Bible school,” he envisioned one campus. Later his son, Kenneth W. Hagin, ran with the vision to take Rhema BibleApril Pic3a Training College global. At first it didn’t seem as if anything was happening. But within the last 10 years, Rhema has experienced great growth throughout the earth.

Both Kenneth E. Hagin and Kenneth W. Hagin have often said, “The sun never sets on a Rhema graduate,” but nowadays you can say, “The sun never sets on a Rhema student.” “Our goal is to be one school with many campuses,” said Craig. “Then we have a greater connection.” That means that, whether in Nice, France, or Apia, Samoa—whether in Bangkok or Bonn—Rhema students are studying the same things. On any given day somewhere in the world, these students are learning who they are in Christ and the message of faith. “We’re just excited about what God’s doing all over the world,” Craig noted with tears in his eyes. “And we’re taking Rhema’s vision and running with it.”

Chinese Healing Scriptures

Inspired by Kenneth E. Hagin’s Healing Scriptures CD, Rhema USA graduate, Amos Wong, worked with a Rhema China student to make a similar CD in Chinese. The student reads God’s healing Word over a background of peaceful music.
