Who's Report Will You Believe?

//Kenneth W. Hagin

The prophet Isaiah asked, "Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" (Isa. 53:1 NKJV). Whenever you encounter problems, it's up to you to decide which report you will believe—either reports about your natural circumstances or the promises of God. Many people say they believe God's Word, but their actions in the midst of a trial prove otherwise.

In Numbers chapters 13 and 14 we read the account of the 12 spies Moses sent to explore the Promised Land. This story is relevant to us today because we're dealing with the same devil, and he hasn't changed. He's telling the same lies today that he did back then. In the midst of adversity it boils down to this: what are we going to believe? People often believe what they see and hear. And some always have an excuse for why something won't work. When you mention God's promises, they yawn and say, "I know the Bible says that." And with a lackadaisical attitude, they go on about their business.

Joshua and Caleb were part of the 12. They saw the same things the others saw. Although 10 of the spies brought back an evil report, Joshua and Caleb saw things differently. They believed God when He said, "I'm going to give you the land." They knew there were problems, but they believed God would deliver them.

Caleb and Joshua had faith. They believed God and spoke out what they believed. They never changed their confession the entire time they were in the wilderness. In our own situations, we should follow their examples to continually declare the word of the Lord until we see it manifest in our lives. Joshua and Caleb kept saying it. And they were the only two of the older generation who saw the Promised Land.

Speaking the report of the Lord can't be something we do occasionally. It needs to become a lifestyle. And as we believe and continually speak, God's arm will be extended to us. And like Joshua and Caleb, we will enter our Promised Land.

Trust God in the face of all obstacles. That's what hundreds of men who attended A Call to Arms 2012 were encouraged to do. Men came from 35 states and five countries to attend. Host Kenneth W. Hagin challenged them to believe God and His Word no matter what. David Vasquez encouraged men to never give up—never throw in the towel. And guest speaker Keith Hudson urged them to trust God for the ability to see ahead and know what to do.

In between main sessions, workshops got to the point—addressing marriage, addictions, money, health, and other men's issues. There was also plenty of time to kick back and relax. The three-day event concluded with a powerful Communion service. Those who attended left stirred up in faith—challenged and encouraged to be the men God created them to be.

A Call to Arms 2013 takes place November 7–9 on the Rhema USA campus in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

"When you understand that marriage is a covenant of companionship, it'll help you understand what you need to be and what your wife is there for. When you don't truly have companionship with your wife, you have a broken covenant."
—Jerry Weinzierl
From the workshop "Winning Your Wife & Why"

"You don't have to know everything. You just need to know the next step . . .
the one thing that gets you where you need to go. Keep your eyes and ears open to what the Holy Spirit is telling you."
—Bracken Christian
From the workshop "Life Learned on the Field"

"With your skills and your DNA and God behind you, I believe with all of my heart that you can do it, and you can have it, and you can be it. Whatever it is that God is calling you to do, you can do it."
—Joe Hernandez
From the workshop "No Fear Lives Here"

"It's not about what's on the outside that matters. God doesn't see the outside. God looks at the heart. . . . God is with us. God is in us. . . . When we have the mind of Christ, we want to be like Christ. We want to act like Christ."
—Craig W. Hagin
From the workshop "Holy What?"

"Oftentimes people are more committed to creating results around wanting to be right. Have you ever been in a disagreement and you actually found out halfway into it that you were wrong, and you were still looking for evidence justifying your need to be right?"
—Victor Blanco
From the workshop "Lego My Ego"

"You might say, 'I can't do it.' No. Humble yourself to the Word of God, and He will lift you up. God's promotion is 'you humbling' and 'He lifting.'"
—Steve Yoder
From the workshop "Show Me the Money"

"When you're dealing with sexual sin, it's not just that you've put something between you and your wife. You have entered into something that is keeping you from the Throne Room. You've placed an idol . . . you've placed a kingship between you and Christ."
—Gene Bailey
From the workshop "Addicted—But Nobody Knows"

"As the head of the house—as fathers—we've got to learn that God sees us as men of valor, not men of defeat. He sees us with the ability to speak into the lives of our wives and families so they can be everything they want to be."
—Mike Campbell
From the workshop "Be More Than a Wallet"

"Good health isn't just about healthy eating and exercise. It also includes having a positive mental attitude, a healthy self-image, and a healthy lifestyle."
—Bob Keich
From the workshop "Man Up. Get Healthy."

"Look at the people in the Bible who had hurts, habits, and hang-ups. These are the people you and I talk about. These are the people God used. I'm here to tell you that it's OK not to be OK, as long as you're on your way to being OK. You can't do it in your own strength, but in God's strength all things are possible. Everything around you or inside you may be saying no, but God is saying yes. Yes, continue. Yes, stay with your wife. Yes, be the best dad you can. Men of God, get fired up, because whatever you're going through, you can make it!"
—David Vasquez
From "It's OK Not to Be OK"

"God said to me, 'Too many of my people are just looking.' You and I cannot afford to be looking any longer. We are men of God. We can't be looking at our situation, or our economy, or our children. We must be seers. Anybody in the Bible who ever did anything significant was a seer. People in the world—Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Picasso, Henry Ford—all were seers. Why is it that people in the world are seers and not the Church? You and I are the ones who should be seeing, who should be coming up with the new ideas. We're the hands of the Lord. God is showing. And I want to see what He is showing."
—Keith Hudson
