Looking Ahead: All Things Are Possible

Looking Ahead

//Craig W. Hagin

Your entire future is ahead of you, and it is bright! God has a position for you, and if you’ll trust Him, you’re going to finish your course with joy!

In order to move into the future God has for us, though, we’ve got to do as the Apostle Paul said. We must forget those things which are behind. A lot of times we let our “behind” distract us from moving forward, but the past is the past—whether it was good, bad, ugly, or pretty. And we can never move forward when we’re looking backward.

Paul was an expert in forgetting the past. Before his encounter with the Lord on the road to Damascus, he was a Christian killer named Saul. Though he had done wrong, God still used him. He still had a future!

A lot of times we think that we don’t have a future because of our past. But the future is unwritten. And what you write on the pages of your future is up to you. All things are possible for those who believe (Mark 9:23)!

Whatever situation you’re facing, God has promised that you win (2 Cor. 2:14)! He has promised you an abundant life—if you’ll only believe (John 10:10).

Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Verse 6 in the New Century Version says, “Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.” Verse 7 goes on to say, “Don’t depend on your own wisdom. Respect the Lord and refuse to do wrong.

Commit yourself to God first, and He will give you wisdom and direct your path! A lot of people want to do things for themselves, but my question is, why? Why do things for yourself when you have God to help you and the Holy Ghost to inspire and lead you? Believe God. Trust Him now and forget what’s in your past. The Lord has good things in store for your future, and as you believe that and speak it, there’s nothing you can’t do!

Over the years, many wonderful ministers have addressed the graduating students of Rhema Bible Training College. Below is a compilation of some of the timeless words of wisdom that were given to various graduating classes.

“ ‘Great it is to believe the dream as we stand in youth by the starry stream; but a greater thing is to fight life through and say at the end, the dream is true!’ A lot of people will try to talk you out of your dream. You’ve got to be delivered from people.” // John Osteen, 1988

“Hope is the dream, the vision. It is the automatic pilot on the airplane. Faith is the power of those jet engines that sent that plane to its destination.” // Bob Nichols, 1989

“God never looks at you with the weakness you have. God looks at you as a finished product when you yield your life to Him and say, ‘Here I am, Lord. Melt me and mold me and fashion me after Your likeness, so that I can do what You want me to do.’ ” // R.W. Schambach, 1990
