AXIS Youth Summer Camp 2010

AXIS Summer CampAXIS Youth Summer Camp 2010

We were going to write about how amazing AXIS® Youth Summer Camp 2010 was, but those who experienced it said it so well that we decided to let them tell you.

Youth Testimonies

“David* had a prayer line for people whose parents have a terminal illness. My mom, my sister, and I went down because my dad has cancer. Up until that moment, I’d been scared to talk about it. I’d been walking in fear since I found out. Today on my Facebook I said that my dad is healed. I’m walking in faith, and I’m not scared to talk about it anymore.”

— R.A.

“During one of the services, David called for those who were depressed or suicidal to come to the front. I went down because I’d been dealing with both. When I was younger I used to cut myself, and I was thinking about doing it again. I started crying, because it was a big deal for me to tell people about my cutting and suicidal thoughts. When I was prayed for, I heard God tell me I was worth more than [cutting myself].”

— B.G.

“My parents had been fighting before I left for camp. My mom told me my dad was going to go back to Chicago, but we were going to stay in Tulsa. She said, ‘By the time you get back from camp, he’ll be gone.’ He had already packed up half of his stuff before I even left. We prayed about it at camp and had a little Bible study. When we got back, both of my parents picked me up. I asked them what was going on, and they said my dad was staying. When I asked why, they said it was because of God, and asked if I had been praying. I said, ‘Of course I was. I was at church camp!’”

— G.B.

“My back was really hurting me to the point where I couldn’t play in the [camp] Olympic Games. One night David had an altar call for healing, but I didn’t go up because I was nervous. At one point, he walked by me and my back popped and I was healed!”

—M.M.

“I was depressed for a long time. I attempted suicide and used to cut myself. When David called for people dealing with those kinds of issues, I went forward and cried like a baby. Ever since David prayed for me, I’ve felt peace. I feel like I can get to God and I’m joyful!”

—C.J.

“Lately I’ve been going through a lot of stuff and felt like I was far away from God. At one of the services, God was telling me to let some stuff go in my life, and I did. He told me, ‘Now I can use you.’ Later that service I was able to pray for some of my friends, and I felt like He was really using me because of the stuff I had given to Him.”

—K.M.

Youth Pastor Testimonies

“We are so excited to be part of RHEMA’s camp. This is our second year in a row, and it has had a major impact on our youth and on our youth ministry.”

“This was our first year at camp. It has been an amazing time this week. Over and over again we have heard our youth say how they felt the presence of God—how real and how tangible it was—and how they are so excited to come back next year.”

— James & Heather
Youth Pastors
in Horton, Kansas

“This was a great week. The kids got filled with the Word and the Spirit of God and were ministered to in a wonderful way. They had a lot of fun and a lot of activities. I want to recommend to everyone that you bring your youth group to this camp. Your kids will have a blast and they will be built up in the Word and in the Lord.”

Speaker Quotes

“Cool is temporary. Don’t get sucked into it. What is more important—being cool or having someone know your Lord and Savior?”

— James Bennett
Morning Youth Session

“David’s brothers saw Goliath as too big to hit. David, however, looked at Goliath as an obstacle too big to miss. God desires every leader to live in the extraordinary—above the average, above the norm, and above the mediocre!”
