The Power Generation

The Power Generation//Kenneth W. Hagin

We are a power generation.

Our daily lives are surrounded with power. We have power appliances, such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and microwaves. Our garages are filled with power tools that include saws, drills, and routers. We drive vehicles with power engines, power brakes, power steering, power locks, and power windows. It seems as though we can’t survive without power.

Political leaders in our nation and around the world are concerned with the balance of power. Economists closely watch the power of one currency against another. Militaries around the world are wary of the weapon capacity and firepower of their enemies.

We are a generation that is consumed with power. We demand it in every area of our lives except one. In the church world, not having any power is readily accepted.

Today, a church in which the power of God is manifested is not the norm. When a church does rise up and demonstrate the power of God, it is branded as wild.

What has the Church come to? Where has the power gone?

Transmitting God’s Power to the World

I do not believe that we who are called by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ have a right to take a powerless Gospel to a lost and dying generation. Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me. . . .”

This verse shows us that when we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive power. It’s time for us as Christians to start demonstrating the power of God to those around us.

We should not be satisfied with the status quo. We need to rise up and declare, “I’m born again by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I’ve been baptized in the Holy Spirit and I speak in tongues. And I have the power of God in my life!”

God wants a people who will stand in the gap for this generation. He is looking for those who will go into the highways and byways and not just ask the lost to come in but compel them to come in. God desires a people who will take His miracle-working power to the sick and dying.

When was the last time you laid your hands on someone and prayed for their healing? This is not something that only preachers should do. The Great Commission was given to every believer. Mark 16:18 says that when any believer lays hands on someone who is sick, that person shall recover! Not might recover, but shall.

Let the Church Arise!

This is our hour! We are here for such a time as this. This is our time to preach the Gospel with the power of God in manifestation. The Apostle Paul understood this. He said in First Thessalonians 1:5, “For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power . . .” (NLT).

We cannot, we must not, and we will not be satisfied with a powerless Gospel. We must be known as the people who preach the Gospel with power! We must fall on our faces before God and seek Him until His power is demonstrated to the world.

It’s time to be known as Generation P—the power generation—the generation that has the manifestation of God’s
power in our lives.

Will you join me and make a commitment to be part of a band of believers who boldly invade the world of darkness? Will you take the power of God to this generation? It’s time for us to quit talking about the power of God. Now is the time to demonstrate it!
