'I Knew I Was Healed'

Last August 2012 when I was still pregnant, I attended a service at Valley Family Church in Portage, Michigan, where Pastor Hagin was the speaker for a few days. At one of the evening services, I went forward for healing because the doctor had diagnosed me with placenta previa. When I went forward, Pastor Hagin laid hands on me. I immediately fell backward and was overcome with the Holy Spirit! This was the first time something like this had happened to me! I knew I was healed!

A few weeks later, I went in for another ultrasound and the placenta previa was healed! They did notice, however, fluid around my baby's lungs. I was referred to a high risk doctor. Nine days later, when I went in for another ultrasound, the fluid was nearly all gone! The technician was quite surprised as to why I was at the high risk doctor.

Throughout the rest of my pregnancy I was monitored by the high risk doctors. [My son Luke] was born three weeks early on December 10, 2012. On December 11, they found two holes in his heart. He was then placed in the NICU for eight days. During this time, he was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Although we didn't deny the diagnosis, we did not receive it for him. We began to stand on God's Word for Luke's healing and believed that regardless of the doctor's report, he was healed. Many miracles happened in the NICU and have happened since he has been released.

Luke's ears physically moved in the hospital, and his blood platelet level went from 60,000 to 105,000 in one day! He was on oxygen when we left the hospital, and they thought he'd be on oxygen indefinitely. However, he was off oxygen in less than a week! His thyroid has been tested, and he's in the normal range!

During those first few months, Luke ate well and continued to gain weight, in spite of having two holes in his heart. He rolled over at just one month old, the earliest of any of my other three children! He began cooing, talking, and smiling those first months as well.

On March 1, Luke had open heart surgery. He recovered very well and we brought him home six days later. Doctors were concerned that his pulmonary hypertension wouldn't heal and also said he'd be on oxygen for two months. Luke was on oxygen for just a week and a half, and then his cardiologist confirmed that his pulmonary arteries were completely healed and whole!

I believe that my encounter with the Holy Spirit when Pastor Hagin laid hands on me was a defining moment in this journey that we are on! That was tangible proof of the start of the Holy Spirit's working in my son's life and in my life. We continue to speak God's Word over Luke and believe that we are seeing God transform him before our very eyes. We praise God as we take Him at His Word which says that Luke is healed!
